“The concept of ârock ânâ roll dollsâ has been around seemingly for agesâThe Beatles, KISS, and Michael Jackson have all taken the plunge throughout the decadesâbut it wasnât until 2009 that punk rockers began getting the âdoll treatmentâ on a regular basis when the Aggronautix company began issuing âThrobbleheads.â Subsequently, the likes of GG Allin, DEVO, Jello Biafra, Mike Watt, and Rancid, among countless others, have been immortalized in polyresin.”
âAt first, I wanted to make a GG Allin designer vinyl toy, but it was just too expensive, so I settled for a bobbleheadâor âThrobblehead,â as I branded it,â founder Clint Weiler shares. âI was working publicity for all of these legendary punk bands, and I felt they deserved to be immortalized, so thatâs when the idea of a complete line of figures came about.â
Bad Religion is an American punk rock band that formed in Los Angeles, California in 1980. The band’s lyrics cover topics related to religion, politics, and science. Musically, they are noted for their melodic sensibilities and extensive use of three-part vocal harmonies. The band has experienced multiple line-up changes, with singer Greg Graffin being the band’s only constant member, though fellow founding members Jay Bentley and Brett Gurewitz have since rejoined, and guitarist Brian Baker has performed with the group since 1994.
